Scripture Sync Schedule
Friday, June 19th
5:00pm
Scripture Sync Kickoff!
Participants are encouraged to arrive between 4:30-4:45 in order to check in and find a good seat. We're excited to have you with us! Josh and Becky will set the stage for what you can expect this weekend.
5:10pm
Scripture Worship
We'll start by setting our hearts and minds on God through worship. Enjoy a mix of well-known worship songs along with Scripture songs that you can use to internalize God's Word.

Workshop Breakouts
You've chosen your workshop, now is the time to relocate to the appropriate room so you can learn from one of our five speakers. All workshops are being recorded, so Lord willing you'll have access to replays of all the workshops. See the list of workshops below.

Day 1 Complete! Grab some dinner.
Workshops will end at 7pm and we encourage you to find somebody new and go out to dinner together. Our community Patrons will be gathering for a separate dinner at the church.

Day 2 Kick-off!
Josh and Becky will kick things off again as we prepare for an incredible day of encouragement and Scripture memory inspiration. We'll have another short worship set, games, and maybe even some surprise Scripture recitation.

Janet Pope - "So Much to Memorize, So Little Time"
Author and speaker Janet Pope joins us again this year to encourage us to consider what we're going to memorize next.

Grab some coffee, chat with friends or just walk around.

Jonathan Bradford - "Lessons Learned from Memorizing the ENTIRE New Testament"
It seems impossible, but Jonathan has done it - he's memorized the entire New Testament word-for-word. Learn what he did right, what he wishes he did differently, and how you can approach your own Scripture memory.

Let's grab some lunch! We're going to walk across the hallway where you'll not only eat some good food, you'll also get to meet and chat with others.

Josh Summers - "Your God-Given Power of Forgetting"
At Scripture Sync, we celebrate memory, but Josh encourages us to consider the art of forgetfulness. It's not a liability, it is a God-given gift that we can use to our advantage.

Scripture memory is better together. Learn practical ways to create connection, encouragement, and community around God’s Word—whether one-on-one, in groups, or online.

After a wonderful time together, we'll spend the last few minutes making sure we are equipped with the right ideas we can take home and use ourselves and within our own communities.

Bible Memory Workshops
Workshop 1: Dr. Larry Dinkins
How to Memorize Stories & Outlines
Jesus was the consummate storyteller of all time and around 70% of the Bible is narrative. Participants will learn how to absorb and recite short Bible stories accurately with a view to evangelism, leading a small group, and preaching. Larry will describe how to memorize outlines of books using mind palaces and various mnemonic techniques — he has done so for all 1,189 chapters of the Bible.
Workshop 2: Carline Day
Build Your First Memory Palace
Carlin Day used the memory palace method to memorize the entire book of Proverbs, word for word, verse for verse.. In this workshop, you will learn how to build and use your first memory palace - even if you've never done it before! Through this experience, you will gain a better understanding of the mind palace method and gain the confidence you need to use it yourself for your next passage.
Workshop 3: Rachel Eernisse
Memorizing Scripture with Kids
Rachel Eernisse from Scripture Speakers teaches you how to navigate the grumps, slumps, and bumps along the way to find purposeful fun in your Scripture memory journey with kids. You'll learn tricks involving play dough, tickles, the voice of Darth Vader — and more — that will keep kids of all ages engaged and meditating on God's Word. This workshop is for anyone with kids in their lives, not just parents!
Workshop 4: Tom Griffin
Growing a Recitation Ministry
Your church has a children's ministry, a worship ministry, possibly even a prayer ministry...but what about a "Scripture recitation ministry"? In this workshop, Tom Griffin from ByHeart ministries is going to teach you how best to make your church aware of the practice of Scripture recitation. Additionally, you'll learn how you can train, recruit, and coach leaders, and how you can help add it into the normal patterns of your church.
Workshop 5: Janet Pope
Review it to Glue it
How can I remember and keep fresh the passages I've spent months learning? You need an individualized review system that works for you. We will offer several options that have worked for others. Bring a list of the passages you have memorized and you will be given time to create your own review system.
Workshop Replays
We're going to do our best to record each one of these workshops, although they are designed to be very interactive. We'll make these replays available within a week of the completion of Scripture Sync.
